The port is located in Almirante Bay, on the NW end of the Atlantic coast of Panama, and it consists of two piers, length 199 m. and 107 m. The principal cargo handled is bananas for export and domestic passenger Ro-Ro services. The port is administered by the national Port Authority (Autoridad Maritima de Panama) but operated by Boca Fruit Company LLC (Chiquita).

Hilongos is a small port located on the the SW coast of Leyte in the Philippines handling Ro-Ro ferries, general cargo, timber, steel products and livestock.

Yanbu commercial port is approx. 12 n.m. NW of Yanbu industrial port on the Res Sea coast in Saudi Arabia.

Bordeaux, in southwest France, comprises six specialised port areas located on the Gironde estuary and rivers Dordogne and Garonne: Le Verdon, Pauillac, Blaye, Ambes, Bassens and Bordeaux.

Le Verdon handles containers and timber, Pauillac handles oil and Airbus components, Blaye handles grain and chemical products, Ambes handles oil and chemical products, Bassens handles grain, bulk, containers and timber and Bordeaux handles cruise vessels.

Kokkola is a medium-sized port located in the Gulf of Bothnia in western Finland. This port is the deepest in the Gulf and has the following port areas: General Port, Chemical Port, Silverstone Port and Deep Port. Handles dry bulk, oil, chemicals, containers, general cargo and timber.

Zinc and fertiliser plants are situated close to the quays; with industrial hinterland, one of the biggest in Finland.

All Weather Terminal (AWT) permits general cargo to be stored, loaded and discharged indoors at all times.

Khor Dubai (Dubai Creek) is an important and safe harbour for small and medium sized ships. It is located in the Gulf, on the western coast of the Arabian Peninsula, 100 n.m. SW of the Strait of Hormuz.

Callao is the largest and most important port in Peru, handling general cargo, containers, dry bulk and liquid bulk cargoes.

Located on the SE coast of Korea, Busan is a large multipurpose port which is spread over a wide area. The port primarily handles containers and is undergoing extensive development to increase container traffic.

New York, located on the NE US coast, is a multipurpose port handling containers, dry and liquid bulk, general, breakbulk, specialised, Ro-Ro, vehicles, cruise and passengers.

The Port of New York and New Jersey is the largest port complex on the East Coast USA. The Port Authority (The Port Authority of NY & NJ (PANYNJ)) oversees the operation of Port Jersey Marine Terminal, Brooklyn Piers, Red Hook Container Terminal, New York Container Terminal and Port Newark/Elizabeth Marine Terminal. Private operators oversee the operation of other facilities throughout the port district.

Located in the centre of the west coast of Portugal, Aveiro port handles general cargo, bulk liquids, Ro-Ro and fishing vessels.

Pecem is a jetty port located in central coastal Brazil and handles containers, iron ore, bulk fertilisers, breakbulk, general cargo, petroleum products, CNG and LNG. Berths protected by an L-shaped breakwater, total length 1,768 m.

The port is connected to the Fortaleza-Guamare (Gasfor) pipeline.

The Port Authority Cearaportos is a subsidiary of Ceara State Government.

Alanya port in Turkey serves only international cruise ships and fast ferries plying between Kyrenia and Alanya.

The port is located on the east coast of Antalya Bay, approx. 60 n.m. ESE of Antalya. The port is at the heart of the city, enclosed by a 209 m. high promontary and is well sheltered.

Aratu port in Brazil handles solid and liquid bulk and gas and is located on the northeastern side of Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints’ Bay) in the state of Bahia, approx. 11 n.m. north of Salvador.

Whittier, Alaska, USA, is a small port consisting of a floating pontoon hinged to a steel barge, hanging on four dolphins. It is located on the SW shore of Port Wells in Prince William Sound, approx. 50 n.m. NNE of Seward.

This large port on the western coast of South Korea handles major facilities terminals for LNG and chemical carriers.
