OVERVIEW:  The principal port of Kuwait for non-petroleum cargoes with a total land area of 320 ha. and water basin area of 1.2 million sq.m. It has 21 berths and handles containers Ro-Ro, breakbulk cargo vessels and bulk carriers.
LOCATION:  On the south shore of Kuwait Bay (Khalijal Kuwayt), west of Kuwait City, in an area that is part industrial and part rural, within the Al-Asimah governorate.

PORT LIMITS:  Seaward limits comprise all waters in the area confined by line drawn in direction 000°(T) from Ras Al Ajuza (29° 23.45′ N, 048° 00.40′ E) to the parallel of Lat. 29° 30.00′ N; thence in direction 230°(T) to Ras Al Ashairij 29° 23.25′ N, 047° 51.00′ E A vessel is considered to have arrived once it has entered port limits.
