The following ports were in the path of the Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) as it passed through the Philippines. Hardest hit areas appear to be southern Samar and northern Leyte when the Typhoon was at its maximum strength. A tidal surge predicted at 2.3 m., but due to compression within the San Pedro Bay, possibly exceeded 5.0 m. A further tidal surge appears to have spread up the Sulu Sea on the back of the passing of the typhoon.
