OVERVIEW:
Serving as the commercial port of Fukuoka, Hakata is a naturally sheltered port with
good road and rail links. The port handles mainly dry bulk and containers but also
passengers, metals, forest products, petroleum products, chemicals, liquefied gas,
Ro-Ro and breakbulk cargo.
LOCATION:
On the SE shore of Fukuoka-Wan in northern Kyushu, 5 km. NE of Fukuoka and 50 km.
SW of Kitakyushu and the Kanmon Straits.
