OVERVIEW:
The principal port of Malaysia, Port Klang comprises the main areas of Southport
Northport and Westport.
Southport is affected by considerable tidal variation and is used mainly by coastal
traffic. Northport handles breakbulk, containers, dry and liquid bulk and Ro-Ro. Westport
handles breakbulk, containers, dry bulk, passengers, and Ro-Ro. Kapar Power Station,
located approx. 5.0 km. to the north of the main port handles bulk coal and fuel oil.
LOCATION:
On the west coast of the Malay Peninsula, 45 km. SW of Kuala Lumpur and 330 km. NW
of Singapore.
