OVERVIEW:  The port handles dry and liquid bulk, passengers, LPG and breakbulk cargo. There are dedicated berths for bulk cement and iron ore. An SPM berth handling crude oil is located approx. 10 n.m. off the coast.
LOCATION:  In a man-made lagoon, 5 n.m. north of the original Mangalore port on the west coast, 200 n.m. NNW of Cochin.
The SPM is in position 12° 54.00′ N, 074° 39.00′ E.
