OVERVIEW:
The port handles mainly Ro-Ro passenger ferries operating to the Italian mainland
other cargoes handled include breakbulk and bulk liquids. Shipyard facilities with
drydocks are located on the eastern side of the harbour.

LOCATION:
In NE Sicily, on the western shore of the Straits of Messina, 110 n.m. east of Palermo
and 170 n.m. SSE of Naples.
