BRMAO

OVERVIEW:  The capital of the state of Amazonas. The port has Port Authority-operated (Sociedade de Navegacao, Portos e Hidrovias do Estado do Amazonas/SNPH) facilities for passengers cruise, breakbulk and containers, and privately operated terminals for oil and LPG, containers and bulk grain.
LOCATION:  Northern Brazil. Situated at the confluence of the Negro and Solimoes rivers, 700 n.m. upriver from Macapa; the Negro and Solimoes rivers meet just east of Manaus.
