OVERVIEW:
A multipurpose port. Handles dry bulk, petroleum products, chemicals, steel products,
machinery, project and breakbulk cargo. Most cargo is handled at anchorage and transferred
between vessels and the shore by lighters.
LOCATION:
On the banks of the River Tapi, 65 km. south of Dahej and 230 km. north of Mumbai.
The lighterage area is located to the SSW of Suvali Point, centred on approx. position
20° 57.00′ N, 072° 37.00′ E.
