OVERVIEW:  Deep water port handling bulk liquid and gas cargoes.
LOCATION:  Baia de Todos os Santos is one of the biggest bays in Brazil. Its entrance, which is 5 n.m. wide, lies close to Ponta de Santo Antonio and Ilha de Itaparica. The bay is 22 n.m. long (NS direction) and is 18 n.m. wide (EW direction).
The east side contains the city of Salvador, capital of Bahia state; the NE edge is low, but the north and west sides are mountainous.
Terminal Location:  The terminal facilities are located on the Ilha de Madre de Deus, approx. 15.5 n.m. from the anchorage area. It is bounded in the north by the Ilha Maria Guardia, in the east and south by the Ilha Frade and Ilha da Mare and in the west by Ilha das Vacas.
