OVERVIEW:
Natural harbour protected by a 2,200 m. breakwater. Port handles mostly containers
with approx. capacity 1 million TEU per annum, but also dry and liquid bulk, Ro-Ro
breakbulk, passengers and gas. La Spezia is also an important Italian Navy base.
