OVERVIEW:
Private port, operated by Consorcio de Aluminio do Maranhao (Alumar). Bulk cargo terminal,
unloading bauxite, coal, coke, pitch and caustic soda and loading alumina. The area
is dredged to permit access to the Baia de Sao Marcos.
LOCATION:
At Baia de Sao Marcos, on the west bank of Ilha de Sao Luis, 5.5 n.m. south of the
port of Itaqui.
