YEADE

OVERVIEW:  Primary port for the country, consisting of Little Aden to the west and Aden to the east. Aden itself is protected by a short breakwater at Ras Marbut, where Port Control is located. The inner harbour handles primarily dry cargo. Little Aden, on the opposite side of the outer harbour to Aden, handles crude, petroleum products and LPG
Dry cargo imports include automobiles, cement, chemicals, containers, flour, breakbulk, livestock, reefer cargo, rice, specialised equipment, soya beans, steel products, sugar, wheat.
Dry cargo exports include fish, wheat bran, breakbulk.
LOCATION:  On the southern coast of Yemen in the Gulf of Aden, approx. 95 n.m. east of the Straits of Bab al Mandeb, at the southern entrance to the Red Sea
