OVERVIEW:  One of Mexico's primary east coast ports, handles most types of cargo. Tampico serves as a leading base for the offshore industry, and is promoting regional tourism projects It has good links to the national transport infrastructure.
LOCATION:  On the east coast of Mexico, on the NW side of the Gulf of Campeche, 13.7 n.m. south of Altamira.
The Integral Port Administration of Tampico is a fluvial port, with 903 ha. concessioned along 22 km. on both banks of the Panuco River.
