OVERVIEW:  The main harbour area, known as Old City Harbour or Vanasadam, handles passengers, Ro-Ro and breakbulk cargo. A second port area known as Paljassaare Harbour handles dry and liquid bulk, timber and general cargo. Facilities are operated by Port of Tallinn PLC, which also oversees Muuga, Paldiski South and Saaremaa.
The port of Tallinn is a Core port in the North Sea-Baltic Corridor in the European Union's Trans-European Transport Network.
LOCATION:  On the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland in the north of the country, 50 n.m. south of Helsinki and 170 n.m. WSW of St. Petersburg.
