OVERVIEW:
One of the largest port complexes on the Baltic Sea, the port comprises the main areas
of Szczecin and Swinoujscie. The two port areas are administered by the Szczecin and
Swinoujscie Seaports Authority. Cargoes handled include dry and liquid bulk, containers,
heavy-lift, Ro-Ro, passengers, forest products, reefer, liquefied gas, project and
breakbulk.
The port of Szczecin is a
Core port in the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor in the European Union's Trans-European Transport
Network.
LOCATION:
Szczecin lies on the River Odra (Oder), approx. 65 km. upriver from the sea and 130 km.
NE of Berlin. Swinoujscie is on the Swina Channel which links the Baltic with the
Szczecin Lagoon and River Odra.
