OVERVIEW:
The capital and the largest city in Sweden constituting the most populated urban area
in Scandinavia. The port of Stockholm comprises numerous port areas, including Stadsgarden,
Frihamnen, Vartahamnen and Hammarbyhamnen. These areas are central ports for goods
and passengers travelling to and from Finland and the Baltic countries.

Core port in the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Corridor in the European Union's Trans-European
Transport Network.
LOCATION:
Sweden's south-central east coast, where Lake Malaren meets the Baltic Sea. The central
parts of the city consist of 14 islands that are contiguous with the Stockholm archipelago.
The geographical city centre is situated on the water, in Riddarfjarden bay.
