OVERVIEW:
Iron ore loading facility on the Rio Orinoco. Also known as port of Ferrominera del
Orinoco (FMO). Operated by CVG Ferrominera Orinoco.
LOCATION:
The port lies at the confluence of the Rio Caroni and Rio Orinoco, approx. 184 n.m.
from the open sea. Puerto Ordaz, along with the town of San Felix, form the city of
Ciudad Guayana, Bolivar State.
