OVERVIEW:
Puerto Madero is one of 16 deepwater ports in Mexico servicing Chiapas state. facilities
include the multipurpose terminal, container terminal, bulk agricultural terminal
and fishing piers
Cargoes handled include bananas, bulk cargo (baria, magnetite, ilmenite, cement, fertiliser,
iron ore), bulk grain (corn, soya beans and wheat), cattle, coffee, petroleum products,
Ro-Ro, scrap, steel (plate, rod and pipe), timber and tuna fish.
LOCATION:
On the southern end of the west coast of Mexico, 148 n.m. south of Salina Cruz, 110 n.m.
north of Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala and 1,020 n.m. north of the Panama Canal.
