OVERVIEW:  A deep water port, adjacent, north of Puerto Nuevo, open to sea and swell from west to N×W. Drummond transports steam coal 120 miles by railcar from La Loma and El Descanso mines directly to Puerto Drummond. In 2014 the new deepwater quay will be finished and will handle vessels up to Capesize, 180,000 d.w.t. As per Colombian law, transshipment operations will be moved to the jetties.
