OVERVIEW:
The Autonomous Port of Nouakchott (PANPA) is mainly an import port representing approximately
96.4% of all annual traffic to Mauritania. Imports include oilfield supplies, wheat
cement, clinker, flour, sugar, semolina, milk and general cargo. Exports include plaster,
animal skins and fish. Cargoes handled at Nouakchott Wharf (old port) and Port of
Friendship (Port de l’Amitie).
LOCATION:
Atlantic coast of the Sahara Desert.
