OVERVIEW:
River port and Suriname's second largest city. Modernisation project will see an improvement
in port facilities. Handles fertilisers and agricultural produce. The port is administered
from the port of Paramaribo by operator Havenbeheer Suriname NV
LOCATION:
Nickerie district, NW Suriname. It lies at the mouth of the Nickerie River, which
is at the entrance to the Corentyne River, 115 n.m. west of Paramaribo.
