Offshore coal transshipment/anchorage area. Mined coal is transported by barges 5,000–8,000 tonnes
displacement from one of three shore terminals to the transshipment/anchorage area
for loading onto seagoing geared and gearless bulk carriers
The mining concession is operated by PT Berau Coal, with mining contractors carrying
out all mining operations under long term contracts. PT Berau provides 3 third-party
loading facilities.
LOCATION:
On the mid east coast of Kalimantan, in the Celebes Sea.
