OVERVIEW:
A large multipurpose port much of which is built on reclaimed land. The main port
areas are the sheltered harbour of Lianyungang, the dry and liquid bulk harbours at
Xu Wei and Ganyu. Cargoes handled include containers, alumina, coke, coal, ore, grain,
breakbulk, forest products, metal products, crude oil, petroleum products, chemicals
and liquefied gas.
LOCATION:
Lianyungang lies on the southern shore of Haizhou Wan, Xu Wei is 20 km. to the SE
and Ganyu is 37 km. to the NNW. The port is 170 km. SW of Qingdao and 430 km. NNW
of Shanghai.
