OVERVIEW:
Sheltered deep-water port with 4,158 m. of quay. Port is multipurpose and handles
dry and liquid bulk, containers, general cargo and tankers. It is currently the only
port in Mexico capable of berthing 7th generation container ships up to 12,500 TEU
capacity or displacement 165,000 tonnes
LOCATION:
In the Balsas Delta between Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Bay and Playa Azul Bay on the Pacific
coast, 272 km. from Morelia, the state capital.
