OVERVIEW:  A multipurpose port handling inter-island cargo; mostly on barges. Cargoes handled include dry and liquid bulk, livestock, Ro-Ro, containers and breakbulk. The port is protected by reclaimed land and a breakwater. In addition to commercial facilities there are also pontoons for leisure craft and a small-vessel anchorage.
LOCATION:  On the NW coast of the island of Hawaii, 132 n.m. SE of Honolulu.
