OVERVIEW:  The port covers a 25 mile long complex of diversified public and private facilities located just a few hours sailing time from the Gulf of Mexico. It is one of the biggest ports in the United States and is part of a large cargo handling area including the Galveston Bay ports, Galveston and Texas City.
LOCATION:  Inland from Galveston Bay in the Gulf of Mexico.
