CAHAL
OVERVIEW:
A naturally-sheltered port of regional importance handling cargoes including dry and
liquid bulk, containers, Ro-Ro, passengers, forest products and breakbulk. Harbour
also contains a naval base, shipyard, fishing, leisure and offshore support berths
The port is one of Transport Canada’s Port of Refuge ports.
LOCATION:
On the southern shore of the Nova Scotia peninsula, Halifax lies 650 ESE of Quebec
City and 660 km. ENE of Boston, Massachusetts.
