OVERVIEW:
A medium sized port located within a natural harbour and further protected by breakwaters.
The port handles forest products, dry bulk, crude oil, petroleum products, containers,
breakbulk and passengers. There are also facilities handling fishing boats and ship
repairs.
LOCATION:
On the eastern shore of Hakodate Wan in southern Hokkaido, 150 km. SSW of Sapporo
and 390 km. north of Sendai.
