OVERVIEW:
A naturally-sheltered, port handles dry and liquid bulk, passengers, Ro-Ro, liquefied
gas, containers, breakbulk cargo and offshore support. The port is the deepest inshore
port on the Gulf of Mexico and the eighth largest US port by total trade. Facilities
at Harbor Island, Port Ingleside including La Quinta Channel are also included in
this entry.
LOCATION:
On the western side of Corpus Christi Bay approx. 20 n.m. from the entrance at Port
Aransas. Corpus Christi lies 180 miles SW of Houston and 470 miles WSW of New Orleans.
Ingleside is situated opposite Corpus Christi, on the eastern side of Corpus Christi
Bay.
