OVERVIEW:  A major regional port protected by artificial breakwaters. Most types of cargo are handled including dry and liquid bulk, Ro-Ro, containers, liquefied gas and breakbulk There are also extensive facilities for cruise and ferry passengers, fishing boats and leisure craft.
The port of Barcelona is a Core port in the Mediterranean Corridor in the European Union's Trans-European Transport Network.
