NZAKL
Also known as Waitemata Harbour
OVERVIEW:
A naturally-sheltered port, handles primarily dry cargo including containers, bulk
and Ro-Ro. Facilities are also available to handle tankers, leisure craft, ferries
and cruise vessels
Most commercial facilities are located on the southern side of the natural harbour
with a single sugar refinery berth, leisure craft moorings, some small ferry terminals
and several military installations on the north side.
LOCATION:
In Waitemata Harbour, accessed via Hauraki Gulf, on the NE coast of North Island.
