OVERVIEW:
Major regional hub port comprising several harbour basins accessed via locks at IJmuiden.
The port handles bulk carriers, containers, general/breakbulk cargo, Ro-Ro, cruise,
automobiles and tankers.
Note:
Please be advised that preparatory work for the construction of the new big lock has
started on and around the North Sea Canal Lock complex in IJmuiden. During construction
vessels transiting the locks may experience some delay.
The port of Amsterdam is a
Core port in the North Sea-Baltic, North Sea-Mediterranean and Rhine-Alpine Corridors
in the European Union's Trans-European Transport Network.
