Valparaiso port is sheltered by a man-made breakwater and handles containers and general cargo. There are also facilities for cruise vessels available.
Valparaiso is located in Valparaiso Bay, in the central zone of Chile, 110 km. NW of Santiago. It is the nearest port to the Los Libertadores Pass, the main road through the Andes mountains to Argentina.
