Quang Ninh is a modern multipurpose port with many new and developing terminals. This port is being developed to take the overspill and deeper draft vessels that Hai Phong cannot handle. It handles most types of cargo and a centre for ship construction. At the centre of northern Vietnam's industrial development program with Hai Phong and Cam Pha. Port facilities contained within Bai Chay, a natural sheltered harbour.
